Reviews in this industry are unusually unreliable, for a specific reason: a coating looks spectacular on collection day regardless of whether it was done properly. A rushed spray sealant over an unwashed car will still produce dramatic beading photos and a delighted five-star review that afternoon.
The reviews that carry information are the ones written 12 to 24 months later, and the ones that mention process rather than outcome. When you are reading reviews of any Penang detailer, look for these markers:
- Did the reviewer mention how long the car was on site? Under six hours means no meaningful correction.
- Did the shop show them anything measurable — paint depth, a test spot, before-and-after under inspection light?
- Did the reviewer come back after a year and report on how it held up?
- Did the shop ever talk them out of something? Shops that only ever upsell are optimising for invoice value, not your paint.
