In almost every case, yes. A ceramic coating is optically clear and semi-permanent. Any swirl mark, hologram or water spot under it gets locked in for the life of the coating, and it will be more visible afterwards because the coating adds gloss and reflectivity.

The only cars that skip correction are brand-new units collected from the dealer within days, and even those usually need a light single-stage polish because transport film and dealership washes leave marks.

A full paint correction plus ceramic coating is a 2 to 3 day job. Roughly: day one for decontamination and correction, day two for coating application, day three for cure under IR lamps and inspection. Rushing this is the single most common reason coatings fail early.

Yes, and you should. Use the two-bucket method with a grit guard, a pH-neutral shampoo, and a clean microfibre wash mitt. Dry with a plush drying towel or a filtered blower — never a chamois dragged across the panel.

What you must avoid is the automatic brush wash. Those rotating brushes are the single largest cause of swirl marks on Malaysian cars, and they will scour a coating off in under a year. If you use a coin wash, use it only for the pre-rinse.

Driving in rain is fine after 24 hours. What you should avoid for the first 7 days is anything that puts standing water or chemicals on the panel while the coating completes its cross-linking: no car wash, no shampoo, no quick detailer, no parking under a tree that drips sap. If it rains, rinse with plain water when you get home and dry it.

No, and any workshop claiming otherwise is misrepresenting the product. "9H" refers to a pencil hardness scale used on the cured film, not to the Mohs scale and not to impact resistance. A coating 2–4 microns thick resists light marring from washing far better than bare clear coat, but a car key, a trolley, a stone or a careless brush wash will still mark it.

If your concern is physical damage, you want paint protection film, which is 150–200 microns of self-healing TPU.

No. A coating is optically clear — it will make existing defects more visible, because it adds gloss and reflectivity. Defects have to be removed by paint correction before the coating goes on. This is why correction is quoted as a separate line, and why the honest answer to "how much is coating" always starts with "let me see the paint".

Better at specific things, not universally. Graphene-infused coatings generally show less water spotting on dark paint, disperse heat more evenly across the panel, and hold their hydrophobic performance longer in our testing — which matters in Penang because water spotting from hard water and salt aerosol is the most common complaint we hear at 12 months.

What graphene does not do is stop stone chips or eliminate maintenance. The gloss difference on light-coloured cars is marginal. On a white or silver car parked in a garage, standard 9H ceramic is the better value.

We wash the car, measure the water contact angle on several panels, inspect for coating failure or new defects, and decontaminate if iron fallout has bonded. If the contact angle has dropped below roughly 90°, we apply a top-up layer. The inspection is free for the life of the warranty; the top-up layer, if needed, is charged at cost.

Yes, but with a different product. Standard gloss coatings will add sheen to a matte or satin finish and ruin the look. We use a dedicated matte-safe coating that protects without altering the finish. The same applies to PPF — matte and satin films exist and we install them. Tell us the finish when you enquire, because it changes the product and the price.

We do fleet contracts for companies running five or more vehicles, with staggered scheduling so you never lose more than one vehicle at a time and consolidated monthly invoicing.
